Leadership Structure

Our leadership structure is the foundation of our mission to support and empower our members. The Executive Committee (ExCo) and the Oversight Committee (OSC) work together to ensure the strategic direction, transparency, and accountability of our organisation. These bodies drive SAFAITS’ efforts to serve digital intermediate colourists, digital imaging technicians (DITs), VFX artists, compositors, and more.

Strategic Leadership

The Executive Committee (ExCo) leads the strategic efforts of SAFAITS. Each ExCo member heads a specialised portfolio, supported by committee members, ensuring that the society’s core areas such as professional development, membership, and advocacy are effectively managed.

Together, they:

• Oversee key portfolios to manage critical operational areas.
• Drive collaboration and encourage active member involvement.
• Advocate for the needs of our members and represent SAFAITS within the industry.

Portfolio-Driven Leadership

Each ExCo member leads a specific portfolio with a committee under their guidance, ensuring that all aspects of SAFAITS’ operations are handled by professionals with expertise in the area.

These portfolios focus on topics such as training, events, membership, advocacy, and industry representation, ensuring that the society operates efficiently and meets the evolving needs of its members.

Governance & Accountability

The Oversight Committee (OSC) plays a critical role in ensuring that SAFAITS operates with transparency, accountability, and ethical governance. It serves as a watchdog for the organisation’s activities, ensuring that decisions align with the society’s mission and that ExCo is held accountable for its actions.

Financial Oversight & Integrity

A core responsibility of the OSC is to monitor SAFAITS’ financial health. This includes overseeing how funds are allocated and ensuring that all financial decisions made by the ExCo are transparent and responsible. The OSC’s financial oversight ensures that the society remains financially sustainable and that its operations benefit all members.
