Welcome to SAFAITS! Our mission is to promote professional excellence, foster community, and advocate for ethical practices in South Africa’s post-production industry. As a member of SAFAITS, you play an essential role in upholding our standards and contributing to a collaborative, respectful community. This Code of Conduct sets out expectations for all members to ensure a professional and inclusive environment.

1. Professional Integrity

  • Honesty: Conduct your work with honesty and transparency. Represent your skills, experience, and work truthfully, avoiding any misrepresentation or unethical behaviour.
  • Confidentiality: Respect the confidentiality of clients, colleagues, and projects. Do not share proprietary or sensitive information without proper authorization.

2. Excellence and Accountability

  • High Standards: Strive to uphold industry standards and consistently deliver high-quality work. Dedicate yourself to continuous learning and improving your skills.
  • Reliability: Meet deadlines, fulfil commitments, and communicate openly about any issues that may affect project timelines or quality.

3. Respect and Collaboration

  • Respectful Communication: Communicate with colleagues, clients, and fellow SAFAITS members respectfully, fostering a positive and constructive dialogue.
  • Inclusive Collaboration: Promote inclusivity by welcoming diverse perspectives and valuing the contributions of all members. Do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or bullying in any form.

4. Professional Development and Mentorship

  • Commitment to Growth: Pursue professional development opportunities and encourage others to do the same. Share knowledge and expertise with peers, helping to elevate the industry.
  • Mentorship: Support the next generation of professionals by offering mentorship, guidance, and sharing resources when possible.

5. Ethical Conduct

  • Compliance with Laws and Standards: Abide by all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards governing the industry, including intellectual property laws and labour regulations.
  • Fair Business Practices: Engage in fair business practices and competition, respecting the reputation and work of others in the industry.

6. Advocacy and Representation

  • Support SAFAITS Mission: Act in a manner that reflects positively on SAFAITS and aligns with our mission to uplift and advocate for South African post-production professionals.
  • Engagement: Stay informed about SAFAITS initiatives, participate in community discussions, and contribute to efforts that advance the organization’s goals.

SAFAITS is committed to maintaining a supportive and ethical community.
