Katya Johnson is a Cape Town–based colourist and online editor working across commercials, short films, reality television, and series. She holds a BA in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA Durban, where she specialised in colour grading.
After graduating, Katya moved to Cape Town and completed several internships with established colourists, gaining valuable industry experience and insight into a variety of post-production workflows. She is currently permanently employed at POST CT.
Katya approaches her work with a strong focus on storytelling, visual consistency, and collaboration. She enjoys working closely with creatives to enhance the mood and intention of each project and is passionate about creating polished, engaging work that serves both the story and the client. Katya values clear communication, strong creative relationships, and delivering work that supports both the story and the client’s vision. She is known for her attention to detail in onlining, ensuring every project is polished and consistent.
