Sondia Viljoen is a passionate film maker and post production specialist. Amongst her many credits she advocates for the industry with her involvement in the ongoing AI discussions, and trains future generations. She is a post production and media management specialist based in Johannesburg, working as a DIT, colourist and producer, and the owner of Balanced Productions.
Her career spans over a decade across documentaries, adverts, series, reality and narrative work, from set through to finishing, with credits including Executive Producer on The Festival and post production coordination on The Ultimatum South Africa season two. She is developing Overvu, a media review, storage and archive platform built for South African productions, and serves as Chair of SAFAITS and Co-Chair of the SMPTE South Africa Student Chapter, alongside founding involvement in an initiative to preserve and digitise South African film and broadcast archives.
