Hello! I’m Warwick, White and I believe in the power of collective action to drive meaningful change in our industry. Through the **Advocacy and Lobbying portfolio**, we work tirelessly to ensure that your voices are heard where it matters most—whether in policymaking, regulatory discussions, or industry negotiations.
Our focus is on shaping policies that support our members, protect creative rights, and enhance opportunities for growth in our sector. We actively engage with government officials, stakeholders, and industry leaders to advocate for fair practices, equitable funding, and a thriving creative economy. Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive, and competitive industry for all.

Leading Industry Advocacy: SAFAITS has taken up the co-chairpersonship of SASFED
( https://sasfed.org/about-sasfed-leadership/ ) alongside the Independent Black Filmmakers Collective (IBFC), with a focus on strengthening our industry’s position and engaging with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC), the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC), and other film and television stakeholders to elevate the film and TV industry.
Shaping the Film & TV Sector: Working with key stakeholders to influence policies that benefit our members and advance the interests of the film and TV sector.
Amplifying Member Voices: Providing a platform for members to raise concerns and actively representing their interests at industry forums.
The art of colour grading is instrumental in shaping the visual storytelling that captivates audiences on screen. While the SAFTAs Craft Awards recently introduced Best Achievement in Visual Effects (VFX), recognising post-production's growing impact, we believe it's time to go further.
SAFAITS is calling on the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) to establish a category specifically honouring Outstanding Colour Grading in Film & Television within the SAFTAs Craft Awards. Such a category would not only celebrate the creative contributions of South Africa's colourists but also highlight the vital role they play in creating world-class, visually compelling productions.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for this portfolio! If you’re passionate about advocacy and policy-making, we would love to have you on board. Please fill in the volunteer form to express your interest and be a part of our team.
We look forward to working with you!
Best,
White & Warwick
